In the car Adam asked dad and I which Doodle Bop we liked the best. Crunchy Dad said he liked the green one. There is no green one.
Dad: The Green one. You know, that one...I like him.
Adam: (rushing along) Ok that's great...what one do you like mom?
Pause
Adam: Wait. Dad were you making a joke?
Adam: There IS no green one!!!
I just loved how his brain screeched to a halt in mide stride as he realized the information did NOT compute!

Wednesday is Inside Adam's Brain day...
However, he has me stumped and not in a good humour about it right now.
He played every game he could last night to stay out of bed and was still awake at 11pm last night.
Being that he still woke up just after 7 am.... I was not a happy camper.
If you can figure out what in his brain made him scream and cry and be convinced that I 'ON PURPOSE' missed a DoodleBop song on the CD in the car yesterday even though I did not,....I would love to know.

Wednesday IS 'Inside Adam's Brain'.....
Despite feeling crappy today, I give you this.
Not a conversation with my boy...but this is his list that he refers to each night when he is trying to delay bedtime as muc has possible or wiggle his way into our bed.
Step 1. Claim thirst
If this does not work go to .... (but wait at least 5 minutes between each tactic)
Step 2. Claim I am too hungry to sleep.
If this does not work go to....
Step 3. Suddenly have a headache that requires tylenol
Step4. Suddenly feel that I am going to throw up
Step 5. (the big guns) Suddenly feel like I miss my deceased Poppa and need to talk about it.
This one only works with dad.
If dealing only with mom, realize quickly that you are screwed and while you will attempt EACH step it is without the usual enthusiasm and just going through the motions for traditions sake.

Inside Adams Brain No. 1
Sigh. Due to the holidays and so on we have had a hard time getting Adam back to a decent bed time routine.
The other night he wanted to stay up a little longer and we said ok, but only if he was quiet and watched the show with us. This was impossible for our hyper active little boy.
Dad switched the tv off and said we might as well leave if he was going to keep it up.
Adam: Go ahead. You two go out. Go have dinner or something.
Dad: Really? You want us to go?
Adam: Yep. I can get Caity to bed. We will be fine.
Dad: You want to stay here on your own.
Adam: Yes....just go.
Me: So, you would rather us leave you alone in the house than even remotely try to stay quiet for longer than two minutes?
Adam: Yep.
